WINERIES

An exciting activity for wine lovers has been held in Santa Maria for some years now. It involves a tour in a small train that takes you through the vineyards to visit different wineries. This is the Wine Train (https://www.mallorcawinetours.com/). Also noteworthy is the Festa del Vi Novell, which celebrates the delivery of the new wine to the cellars on the last Saturday of November each year, a fact that wineries traditionally announced to the town by placing a pine branch above the winery door. Even today, pine branches are delivered and hung above winery doors during this festival. Following this formal ceremony, all visitors and locals can enjoy wine and typical local dishes at the wine and tapas party hosted by the town’s restaurants.

Santa Maria del Camí is part of the Binissalem designation of origin and is one of the towns in Mallorca that has specialised in winemaking and grape growing from ancient times to today. The area is today home to the following wineries:
